Noisy Exhausts - is there law/legislation to get these cars off the road?

Half the apprentice technicians would not be able to drive to work if this came into force!!!!!

Inevitably the exhaust note is completely out of proportion to the size and grandeur of the car. It's like those wee terriers who think they're big and hard when really they're just yippy and annoying. Instead of spending hundreds of pounds on some aftermarket exhaust they should just buy a pair of socks and shove it down their trousers. Far cheaper

I'm not sure age has anything to do with it as I'm not privvy to the exact demographic of those who enjoy driving around in ridiculously noisy cars. Maybe it does though, as perhaps the more immature people are, the more likely they are to not care about noise pollution.

Surely, these noise polluters can love their cars with a normal exhaust fitted...
