PHOENIX PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION 2009

Congratulations to Alasdair Goold, Winner of the 2009 Phoenix Photographic Competition with his entry entitled "9 in a Row". We have now had the results from our two judges, Roger Calvert, Secretary of the Gryffe Camera Club and, John McGuire, Managing Director of Phoenix Car Company and we are pleased to announce that both decided on the same image as the winner of the Photographic Competition - Alasdair Goold with his picture "9 in a Row" Here's what Roger Calvert had to say about the winning entry, "Good angle with nice composition, good lighting/exposure, fits the subject well. Good commercial shot too."

The judges also commented on the quality of the entries and singled out two other pictures for commendation;

Mert Zorlu's "Good Dat at Work" on which Roger commented, "Well caught shot. Could be "Stig's Scottish relative at the Phoenix." and...

Alexander Simpson's "Bealach na ba summit" on which Roger commented, "Good composition. Car just a bit small in the frame. Almost like a Mazda Poster shot."

Alasdair wins the £100 cash prize and the opportunity to have his shot in a future Herald advert. A big thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, the entries were superb and of the highest quality. And, special thanks to Roger Calvert for his assistance in judging the competition.
