Phoenix Car Club

Phoenix Honda at Linwood recently organised a track evening at Knockhill race track in Fife.

one of the highlights was the opportunity to do a flying lap with BTCC Honda works driver Gordon 'Flash' Shedden in the very exclusive Honda Civic Mugen 20 Type R. #5 of only 20 that will be built

Among others on the track were our Workshop Controller Kenny 'Oor Wullie' Goudie in his 1999 Type R Honda Integra and workshop foreman Craig 'Timmy' Muir in his Championship White Civic Type R

'Flash' Shedden greatly appreciated the pointers that Kenny was able to pass on to him, and Kenny also said he slowed down to let 'Flash' pass him so as not to embarrass him ;)

A great night was had by all, with many hoping another event will be held in the future

Aye, you're right, you can tell with the blurred background, he was going quite fast. I should have realised it wasn't you;)

And driving off in his shiny new Mugen 20, a nice way to conclude this Blog :)

You're right Kenny, that is the Mugen 200 in front, not timmy. Timmy says he was already over the hill and on the first corner at this point.

I hadn't put any shots of the Mugen 200 in the blog so far, only the Mugen 20. Here's a wee shot of the 200 for comparison with the 20

again!hahaha.to be fair this time, colin does have his indicator on for a wee rest and the gap to the mugen 200 is there because i think someone had blanked his rear view mirrors off !...just would not move over!!

In this shot you can again see Kenny's Integra, this time he has a passenger, Kevin Mills from parts at Linwood. Rumour has it that Kenny's times improved after Kev's advice :)

Was that you about to lap them Kenny?

As this blog is about White Type R's I quite like this shot. Craig Muir in front, Colin MacLeod (Group Parts Manager) in the middle in his Integra, and err, Kenny preparing for an overtake at the back ;) (Well that's what he'll say he was doing lol)
